Grow a Small Garden for Healthier Eating
Whole foods are better for you than processed -- by now everyone has figured that out -- and raw fruits and vegetables are necessary for good health. However, growing your own food is even better for your health for a variety of reasons.
When you grow a small garden, including patio gardens and deck gardens, you can be assured of whether or not pesticides were used on your food. And instead of picking food before it is ripe and letting it ripen in transit... or not ripen completely, you can res assured your fruits and vegetables ripen naturally on the vine where they receive the most nutrients and become the most flavorful.
So start a small garden on your patio, deck or small plot of land and try growing a few favorite foods. Some that do well in my Nashville yard are parsley, tomatoes, oregano, rosemary, and garlic. In fact everything in the photo above that is going into my home-made spaghetti sauce was grown on or around my patio! And it tastes much better than Prego or Ragu!
